Summer Camp for Kids
COVID-19 Update. We expect to open Camp Accokeek this summer when the Governor of the state of Maryland indicates that it is safe to do so. As we understand it, MD youth camps can open during phase two (see page 27, B. Medium risk of the Road Map to Recovery). In the meantime, we are working on policies and guidelines to keep staff and campers safe and healthy so that once the Governor declares the state is reopening in phase 2, we are ready to open camp.
Camp Accokeek is a summer day camp for children ages 4-12.
The mission of Camp Accokeek is to provide summer-camp fun through constructive, kid-centered activities in a responsible, structured, but relaxed environment.
Activities include sports, games, crafts, daily swimming, creative writing, drama, cooking and science. Nine one-week sessions run from June 22 to August 21. Camp hours are 7:00am to 6:00pm. Camp Accokeek boasts a low camper-to-counselor ratio allowing lots of individual attention. Camp also takes exciting field trips and offers learning experiences. Healthy morning snacks are included and daily activities are tailored to each child’s age group.
